To day is thiruvathirai and kali is made with fried raw rice granule like powdwe and jaggery. I posted this question so as to explain to some youngsters who have no idea abour these. For the kali also you have to add grated coconut and fried greengram dhall(Cooked 75%). This dish is made only on this day . a festival for Lord Siva. We can also Add cadomom and cashew to the kali to add flavour and taste. The poduthuval can also be odified by adding a little potato and also raw banana all chopped and cooked with Kavathu and avarakkai. we can add cooked greengram (fried)dhal for the poduthuval also along with the green chilli and coconut. At the end after adding mustard , urad dhal etc we can add "kruveppila"(green curry leaves) and also a little raw coconut oil for flavour and taste
Thnk u,
Thangamani Narayanaswamy, Coimbatore
thangampaattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11408685700313261666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30445236.post-89455494698768524602014-07-28T12:51:40.705-05:002014-07-28T12:51:40.705-05:00ya in kerala it is a common root veg it is called ...ya in kerala it is a common root veg it is called "KACHIL".
this can also make a curry like
lentil.
