Five years of blogging and a giveaway

A few days back, my blog turned five years old. To celebrate, I am giving away a book to one lucky winner. I thought long and hard about which book I should give away......and finally decided that there could be nothing better than Cooking At Home with Pedatha - an award winning cookbook authored by Jigyasa Giri and Pratibha Jain.

With over sixty traditional Andhra recipes in it, this book is written in a simple, easy to understand manner, and accompanied by beautiful pictures. Check out the sun dried rice flake fritters(aval vadam) that I made using the recipe from this book.
To win this book, you don't have to follow me or "like" me......though I am assuming that your being here and reading this means that you do like me. All that you have to do is leave a comment telling me why you think you should win this book.
The giveaway is open for a week from today. I will pick a winner and announce the name on Monday, 11th July. Please leave your email id in the comments section so that I can get in touch with you. I will be able to ship only within India.....so the winner needs to provide an Indian address to which the book can be sent.

Hi Jayashree! What a great giveaway! Today I was in the process of writing a traditional telugu chutney recipe on my blog and imagine my surprise when I saw your post! The Pedatha in the book you are giving away, is in fact my grandmom's cousin sister who I call Subhadra Amamma :) I have met her and enjoyed some of her fantastic dishes! She was a woman full of life and enthusiasm... Yet somehow, I never managed to own this book. I remember buying a copy long ago when the book launched, and then giving it to my Grandmom as a gift. I was never one to enter the kitchen then :D
Today I have discovered my love for cooking and write a blog. And i often worry that living so far away from my mom and family, and married to a Punjabi, I may forget the secrets and delights of Traditional South-Indian food. So yes, I would love to have this book and I hope I get to win it :)But whoever you decide to give it to, I hope they cherish this book and appreciate the simple, tasty Telugu recipes!

I have been following your blog for quite some time and like your recipes a lot :) Congratsss on the completing the big number 5 :) Keep your good work going forever :)

I would love to have that book since

My ancestral origin is Andhra but I was born and brought up in Tamilnadu and dont have much of an exposure to Andhra cooking. But I have always been very interested to know it for the sweet sentimental reason. So this book might give me a kick start towards Andhra cooking if I win it :) Let me see my luck :)

Wow, Congrats on completing 5 years of blogging:) It is sure an achievement.
A wonderful giveaway which is way too tempting:)

I think I am the perfect cook to have that book as I am very interested in exploring other cuisines which helps me diversify my knowledge about regional cuisine , background history of why dishes are prepared the way they are and why certain ingredients and dishes are so special to Andhra Cuisine.

My introduction to Andhra cuisine was through my granny who used to live in Thirupathi, Nellur and Guntoor. The spicy food reminds me of the summers spent with her and her yummy dishes:)

Will wait till the announcement date:) Good luck to all the participants..
