Kids' Delight Announcement - Travel food

If your family travels, whether on long vacations or short road trips, chances are, you have spent some time thinking of the food that you will eat while traveling. If your kids are anything like mine, you will not be surprised to hear them say "I am hungry" just as often as "Are we there yet?". Preparation is key to keep hunger at bay.
That brings us to this month's Kids' Delight theme - Travel Food. Any dish that you have tried and tested and has the seal of approval from your kids, which fits into the category of travel food can be sent in as an entry. It could be a quick snack, a complete meal, a home made ready-to-cook mix that you carry with you when you travel - basically, anything that will take the stress off planning meals and lets you enjoy your trip. It is totally optional, but would be great if you could share some food related travel tips and even some food related memories from your travels.

There are a few simple ground rules to follow when you send in your entries:
  • First off, feel free to send in as many entries as you want to.
  • Any entries posted from today through April 15th can be sent in.
  • The entries must be new posts - not from your archives.
  • Since my blog showcases vegetarian food, I would appreciate it if you could send in entries that fit in to the vegetarian theme. However, eggs are OK.
  • In your post, please make sure that you  add the line(with link backs) "This is my entry to Srivalli's Kids' Delight event guest hosted by Jayashree on the theme Travel Food". It is mandatory to link to both Srivalli's original announcement and this announcement of mine.
  • Please mail your entries with the subject line "Entry for Kids delight - Travel food" and a photo to luvgoodfood@gmail.com.
  • I would greatly appreciate it if you could add this logo to your post as well

Event Announcement - Healthy Lunchbox Ideas-Paneer

Every parent will agree that packing a child's lunch box is no easy task. Variety, taste, appearance - these are just a few of the things that we have to consider before we decide what's to go into that box.
Kalyani has come up with an event called Healthy Lunch box Ideas which is a platform for us bloggers to brainstorm and come up with ways to make kids eat stuff that is good for them.
I will be guest hosting this event in July......and the theme for the month is Paneer.
So, put on your thinking....err....cooking caps and whip up something that uses paneer as the main ingredient, and can be packed as a healthy lunch box/snack box eat.
Now for the rules:

The event is on from July 1st to July 31st. Any entries you post within that period can be sent in.....archived posts are accepted too, as long as you link back to this announcement, the original announcement and include the logo in the post.
A link back to Kalyani's announcement, this announcement, and the use of the logo are mandatory.
Since we are talking healthy food, let's say NO to deep fried stuff.....though stir fried/grilled food is welcome.
Only vegetarian entries, please.....though I will accept eggs in baking.
Well, that's about it.....now grab some paneer and whatever else it is that you need to create magic in the kitchen and drop me a mail at luvgoodfood@gmail.com and let me know about it. Please include HLI-Paneer in the subject line.

Announcing MEC - Celebrating bloggers

Some time back, I wrote a post asking people what made them blog? The reasons, as some blogger friends commented, ranged from sheer love for blogging to the happiness that comments bring. Whatever the reason maybe, the one common thread that ran through all the comments is the dedication of the bloggers and their absolute love for connecting with like minded people through their weblog.
We bloggers deserve a pat on the back for managing home, career, kids and still finding time to blog about the food that we put on our family's table and umpteen other things.
What does all this have to do with MEC- The microwave easy cooking event conceptualized by Srivalli and hosted by me this month? Well, we are going to celebrate our fellow bloggers this month. There's no better way to do it than by cooking something from their blogs and telling them how much we love it.
Here's what you have to do - Choose a vegetarian recipe from another blog. It could be something that the other blogger has made using the stove top or microwave. Adapt it so that it can be cooked completely in the microwave. Cook, click and post.

The rules are pretty simple:
1. Cook anything from another blog and write about it on your blog between now and March 31st. Please stick to vegetarian recipes (no eggs).
2. Remember, the entire cooking must be done in the microwave, though a blender/food processor can be used for grinding.
3. Please link back to this announcement and also to Srivalli's event link.
4. I will accept older entries as long as you repost and link back to this announcement and to Valli's rules.
5. Multiple entries are welcome.
6. Don't let not having a blog stop you from participating. E-mail your recipe to me with a photo and I'll include it in the round-up.
7. Send in your entries, with your name, recipe URL and picture of the dish (300x300) to luvgoodfood@gmail.com
Please mention MEC-Celebrating bloggers in the subject line
8. Feel free to use the logo
